Hello Fellow Roosters,

This year our Rooster Weekend will start on Thursday, July 11th, 2019, and run through Saturday, July 13th. Reservations must be received in Horsham PA, with payment, by July 5th. This is our only “official” Rooster event of the year. The Rooster Celebration Weekend will give you three days to visit with all your Rooster friends. Over 10 new Roosters have crowed-in since the last picnic and we anticipate additional crow-ins before July. Our numbers are growing and we would like to see all the new faces come out and enjoy making new friends, and sharing the fellowship of our Rooster group.

Greg Malone WA3GM is picnic chairman again this year. Since he did such a great job last year we expect even more attendees this year.

We will have a huge 50-50, our tribute to our recent Rooster Silent Keys, the annual Rooster chorus, the official Rooster photo, introduction of our net controls, our new Rooster of the Year, introduction of our board of advisors, a number of technical demonstrations, a ham equipment free exchange table, and of course a great picnic meal. Don’t forget, we want this to be a great success which means we will be looking for YOU at the Rooster Weekend.

*Dry Camping***for self-contained RV’s is NOT PERMITTED at the Knights of Columbus picnic area in Stowe, PA. If you prefer a real campground with hookups, contact French Creek State Park, 10 miles from the Knights and 12 miles from downtown Pottstown.

On Thursday night, we will be meeting at Cutillo's (  2688 E High St, Sanatoga, PA 19464 for a welcome-to-the-area get together. It is scheduled for 6:30 PM on Thursday, July 11th. This is the time to meet and greet friends, make new acquaintances and renew old friendships as well as have a snack or dinner.   Please indicate below if you will be attending on Thursday so the restaurant will have the proper staff in place to service us.

Our golf chairman Jim, AF3R, has proposed the Gilbertsville Golf Course for our annual Rooster Golf Outing. This years Golf Outing will be a SCRAMBLE TOURNAMENT. First tee time should be about 9 AM on Friday, July 12th. Please arrive by 8:30 so we can all tee off together. Please be sure to indicate your interest on the form so that we can stay in touch with you. Green fees with a cart are about $30 for seniors and $45 for the younger people. Here is the complete message from Jim. “Hi golfers, hackers, etc. Let’s meet at the Gilbertsville Golf Club parking lot at 8:30 AM Friday the 12th.  Any questions on this please email Jim AF3R at

Those not golfing are meeting for lunch at the NEW First Friday location, Gino’s Pizza Restaurant, 2401 W Main St, Norristown, PA  19403.  This year again, we have been invited to the home of Jim K3CHJ and Dotty Toth for our late Friday afternoon (4 PM) get together. They have graciously offered to open their home and pool for a casual late afternoon of food, beverages, and socializing. We do request a $15 donation per person to help offset the cost of food and beverages. The get together will begin around 4 PM so that those who only drive during daylight can attend. The menu is outstanding. Soft drinks will be provided. No hard stuff……..

The ROOSTER PICNIC will be at the Knights of Columbus picnic area in Stowe, PA The fun is scheduled to start at Saturday July 13th at  11:30 AM and continues until after 3PM.

Again, a swap table will be provided for any unwanted radio item that you want to bring along for “free shopping”. *One simple rule, it should be labeled when you arrive and removed by YOU if it is still there when you are ready to leave. *And as mentioned previously, on the agenda is the annual “crow-in”, the drawing of the door prizes, the always fun Rooster Photo, and the 50/50 drawing. We will discuss upcoming events.  This year’s price for admission to the Knights of Columbus picnic area in Stowe, PA for the day of food and fun is $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for children 12 years of age and under. (Infants Free)

Please indicate on the Reservation Sheet the number of reservations and also indicate the number of children and their names and ages. Reservations with payment are a must to keep the cost down and to be sure everyone has a great time.

We look forward to seeing all of you during at least part of the weekend. Please send your reservations in on time to be sure everyone has plenty to eat and drink.

Detailed driving directions are available for all our events.
